I have TIA portal V13SP1.  I am trying to convert Array of Byte to Array of Char. I am using For loop in SCL. The loop is not working and getting stuck on the 1st counter all the time. Attached is the snapshot of what i am trying to do. I dont know what i am doing wrong.

There are some points to be shared regarding to your question:

1. Cycle of CPU is too short that you can not trace them without specialized tool and in addition a loop is performed in one cycle and it is not easy to trace it just by using the monitor function in TIA Portal.
2. As explained in online manual,CHAR_TO_BYTE never changes the bit pattern of input but only makes it possible to be used as input (argument) of a function/instruction with the converted type. You can check again your variables in a watch table by simply changing the data type change to test the result.

Hello harsh4044,

why not using SFC20 BLKMOV for that? By using BLKMOV you can directly copy your array of bytes into array of char.
