Bild to rotate Experienced Member Joined: 12/4/2009 Last visit: 12/9/2024 Posts: 52 Rating: (1)	Hello Now we are received a new CPU 1511F-1PN - 6ES7 511-1FK02-0AB0 V2.8 On my TIA Portal v15.1 software I canselect only to version v2.6 What is the procedure to install the new CPU version on TIA Portal hradware catalog? I'm checking with TIA UPDATER but this progran not connect with server. Thanks.

I do not know if there is an update to V15.1 or HSP available to add FW 2.8 as an option. You would need to check for V15.1 updates and available HSPs to see if FW 2.8 has been made available to V15.1 (or search the firmware v2.8 download web page for the datasheet. It should state whether it works only in V16+. You can use the CPU, even though it has a never Firmware. It just means that you can't use the new functions, that Firmware v2.8 offers, because they exist only in TIA v16. The PLC can still be used and programmed with older TIA Portal versions. It's just giving you a fault message stating that the online module has a different FW version than the offline project has.

The data sheet stating that it can be used with TIA v15 is from last week 6-May-2020. This is the text refering v16/v15 on this data sheet: ● STEP 7 TIA Portal configurable/integrated as of version V16 (FW V2.8) / V15 (FW V2.5) or higher; with older TIA Portal versions configurable as 6ES7511-1FK01-0AB0 Maybe on a few days we will have a new HSP file.
