we are using Data logs in S7-1200 plc. In the instruction Datalogcreate how many records can be stored in the .csv file. I want to know the maximum numbers of records will be saved in the excel file. kindly share the details for our reference. Thanks in advance.

it depends on different things, like used data type for the record, other data logs and available load memroy for the cpu.
So there is not one clear answer. But in gnereal it is described in the system manual of S-1200

SIMATIC S7 S7-1200 Programmable controller

• The data logs consume only load memory.
• The size of all data logs combined is limited by the available resources of load memory. Only eight data logs can be open at one time. You can manage your data logs from theFile Browserstandard Web page. See the description of this standard Web page for guidelines on how many data logs to maintain at a time.
• The maximum possible number for the RECORDS parameter is the limit for an UDint number (4,294,967,295). The actual limit for the RECORD parameter depends on the size of a single record, the size of other data logs, and the available resources of load memory. In addition, Excel limits the number of rows allowed in an Excel sheet.

Dear sancruz,

            In the Datalogcreate block, only 999 records are stored in a .csv file. If I give more than 999 records the upcoming records are not recorded in an Excel file. I need to store more than 999 records or new records are stored in a new Excel file. I want to log data continuously and the maximum number of records are recorded the new records are overwritten from the Existing log. Kindly share the details to solve my issue. Thanks in advance.

What value did you configure on the "RECORDS" parameter of DataLogCreate?
Do you use the internal load memory of the S7-1200 only, or do you use a SIMATIC Memory Card?
Which Firmware does the CPU have?
Which version of TIA is used?

There is also an application example for DataLogging available, maybe this is helpful, too.
You can skip/ignore the part with TMail_C if it is not needed, but the example should help to make things clear for the DataLog itself.
