It is not possible to make a direct connection via ethernet from an S7 CP 343-1 to an AB L32E. The problem is that S7 speaks S7 protocol and the AB speaks CIP protocol. They cannot understand each other even if they are both on ethernet. Your options are: - Use a PC with OPC Server and OPC Client software as a go-between. But a PC is obviously not as reliable as PLCs are. - Use Profibus in stead of Ethernet.Hilscher has Profibus modules for the AB Compactlogix range. |

The CompactLogix does not support "raw" UDP communication. The only protocol supported is CIP on Ethernet/IP. |
