Dear all,

I have a PC located on site running the WinCC flexible project as HMI. It has windows XP professional.

The problem is that neither the alarm history log nor the trend history log operate all the time.

For example, sometimes I double click the .fwx file of the project and although the log files contain data (located on C:\Logs\..), they do not appear on the relevant screens (alarm log, trend view history), as if they contain no data at all..!

If I try to close and reopen the project multiple times, then there will be some execution where the data on the log files will be displayed. But most of the times when I open the project they do not appear on the screen (neither alarm history nor the trend view.

The data logs are parametrized as follows

number of data records per log 500000

storage location : File-RDB

path : C:\Logs

Logging method: create segmental circular logs automatically

number of logs: 10

fill level: 90

enable logging at runtime start : on

response at runtime start : append data to existing log

I have tried to change those parameters but the problem persists.. Does anyone have a clue with this?

Archives in Runtime
Due to different time characteristics on certain systems, random problems may occur during archiving at the start of Runtime or at the call of system function "OpenAllArchives".
Devices affected:
● PC Runtime
● Windows CE HMI

Unfortunately I have the update 3 already installed and the problem keeps popping up. As far as the hint you posted, is there any countermeasure, or is it just information that such a problem might arise?
