I'm replacing a TP177B with a KTP600B DP.  I'm using WinCC Flexible 2008 SP3 on a Windows 7 x64 pc and connecting using a USB PPI multi-master cable.   I changed the device type on the project to the KTP600 but when I try to download the project WinCC tells me I need a OS update on the panel.  I let this proceed but it flashes a  error screen too fast to read completely about 10% in then drops to the project view.  The panel itself indicates a file transfer is in progress (file 2 of 2 I think) then gives up and goes back into transfer mode.  WinCC won't attempt connecting again at all without rebooting the pc.  I tried power cycling the panel before rebooting the pc, no luck.

Thank you very much for the fast answer.  After multiple attempts with WinCC it made it to erasing the EEPROM---and then cut out again, bricking the KTP600.  ProTools was able to recover and update the panel then I downloaded the project from WinCC normally.

You talk about KTP600. Am I right?

And you said that Protool was able to recover & Update OS!

You can only Update OS using Prosave, WinCC flexible or WinCC TIA
