How do I configure serial communication via rs485 using the X30 comm port? I have node-red set up to communicate with ADEC TDC-1 traffic counter using the serial request node. I've already tried this setup on a windows PC and it should work. I tried to use switchserialmode command to configure the comm port but I don't know if I did it properly. I've also tried communicating with another computer using moxa uport 1130 usb to serial adaptor and hterm software, I did this by sending echo "hello">/dev/ttyUSB0 but to no avail. I also tried using mimicom and even installing gui and putty but both of these were completely unresponsive, not taking any keyboard input when trying to open communication, I may have done something wrong there, since it was new to me... I found plenty of references to using iot2050setup command to configure serial communication but this command is not recognized on my device(command not found message). I'm attaching images with output from stty and switchserialmode commands as well as my node-red serial node configuration... As for my iot2050 device, I have a 6ES7 647-0BA00-1YA2 FS:04 FW:01.02.01 and I used example image v1.2.2 and followed instructions in SIMATIC_IOT2050_Setting_up_V1.2.2.pdf to set it up. I have to add I am a complete beginner with linux so if you have any instructions for me, please keep that in mind.

For the serialport shouldn't you use '/dev/ttyS2'? I have an application where I use the serial port and this is used.

iot2050setup should definetly work if you're using the example image v1.2.2 and bring up an interface where you can do some settings for the COM-port aswell as termination for RS485. Maybe you should confirm that the Example Image is running and not Siemens Industrial OS which may have arrived pre-installed depending on your FS:0x.

Hi, the way I understood it from other posts on this forum is that our version is the advanced one where the built-in cp210x usb to serial converter is connected to the ttyUSB0, not the ttyS2. The way I set up the device was by creating a bootable sd-card using example image v1.2.2. I tried turning the device on without the sd card but I couldn't connect to it and the STAT LED was orange, so I assumed it doesn't have any OS preinstalled. Also, I have 2 FS:04 devices and using the same bootable sd-card I get exactly the same behavior on both. I'm not sure how to check if the os I have is the correct one but the iot2050setup is definitely not recognized. It's honestly driving me a bit crazy, it's been a few days without any success, nor understanding what's wrong...
