I downloaded the SIMATIC energy manager and installed the basic version. I am having trouble to understand or do the following things:

1. Displaying consumed energy per day.

I am reading a value which is directly an energy counter. So the values I am getting are for example 10:00 30 kWh, 10:30 31 kWh, 11:00 33 kWh.

I add a data point and configure it as acquisition category: Energy/Amount or counter value. Then I set this data point to a gauge or pie chart widget. In the widget under the parameter I set the category again to either Energy/Consumption or counter and function SUM.

So when I select a time range from 10:00 to 11:00 (It seems that the smallest time range possible to set in Energy Manager is one day) I would expect to see consumption of 3kWh but instead I get the sum of each value which in this case would be 94 kWh.

How can I achieve the desired result?

2. Displaying MEVA/KPI

When I try to configure a MEVA/KPI, I don't get any data. I configure a KPI form 2 other data points which I know have values, then for test I configure a KPI that sums both of these values. When I look at the values they are all empty, no error or warning messages.

3. Multiple connections with MODBUS TCP

I have configured reading data from 2 SIEMENS PLCs using MODBUS TCP. After I configured the 2nd one the first one stopped getting values. If I look in the PLC the STATUS value of my MB_SERVER function is 16#80C5 or 16#80C4 which as I understand is a message that the Energy manager is trying to access invalid addresses, but I am only trying to read 1 register which I know exists - I can read it with Modbus Client PC app. Also like I said, it was working fine until I added the second device - which by the way reads without problems.

4. Sharing a project file

I wanted to share the project file here but I don't see any way of exporting my configuration. Is this really not possible for this software?

5. Log files

I am getting the following entries in my log file which might help to troubleshoot.

For process ID 4632 I get the following 2 messages. How do I know what this ID applies for? I assume it is for the reading of my first PLC.

*failed to get measurement values, slaveaddress=1,datatype=13, min=2,count=1;

*Reply time-out;

For calculation and process ID 60 I get this:

*Automatic precalculation of meva ressults is switched OFF by registry entry!;

Other messages that might be relevant:

*Process ID 51 No compressions to Calculate found

*446 [19] [CFPPush] -  INFO - CredentialsAndApiPathUpdater error: The value for column 'BDTS_STRING' in table 'TB_BDATA_SETTINGS' is DBNull.;

6. Is it possible to configure the software so that certain users only see certain dashboards?

I think that you can find some answers in the new system description. Take also a look at the differences between the Basic and the Pro version.

 Did you manage to solve any of the points? I'm having the same problem with the values accumulating if I stay on the dashboard.
