Hi All, We have a SIMIT PC with 17 VC's loaded together with SIMIT V11 (Virtual Controller V11). We have a separate engineering station with a PCS7 V9.1 SP2 project. The SIMIT PC has the following specs:
If I run 8 of the VC’s at once everything works as expected. With 9 VC's SIMIT overloads to 1000% once I go online from the engineering station. If I'm not online the load on SIMIT is 36%. Please see pictures attached. I have tried different combinations and it is clear it is the amount of VC's and not a specific VC. Also, the PC does seem to be handling the load fine. It seems like the load is entirely caused by the VC Gateway Load. Any advice would be appreciated. Attachment9_VCs.zip (249 Downloads) |

You can check for yourself in the manual, each SIMIT/VC host can support a maximum of 8 VCs. When you need to exceed 8VCs you have to do VC distribution up to a maximum of 32 VCs in one SIMIT project. (You can see this on the "Introduction" under "How the Virtual Controller Works" in PUD. Your host is very powerful, how about making 2 or more VMs and running the VCs in excess of 8 inside the VMs with the host and the VMs via virtual network and using SIMIT distribution editor. The other machines will pull the SIMIT VC license from the master dongle. BTW That's quite an impressive simulation undertaking and quite a nice amount of licenses We typically just run part of the plant at once on such a big simulation. |
