 Winpcin is not free SW, but you can try your luck --Google it in and out Siemens website 

I remeber it is not standard alone SW, it was contained inside SINUMERIK 802D "Toolbox"--the SW package for start up 802D, so you can serach 802D Toolbox or contact any dealer who can supply it 

But one think remind me--when I read your's and cncnik's post, that is for some reason, your original archive files NC/PLC .arc possible defective --if it is really the case--then I think you cannot use it to transfer from PC (via WinPCIN) too 

another hard job for youhow to take out NC/PLC arc from you HMI (HDD) 

You mentioned you have a simialr Siemens 840D machine --please give information how similiar 

such as NCU 57x.x --I will think other solution for you.--maybe possible you need make a "new machine"--maually input parameters and make PLC program. or get ride of it

Thanks for your reply, where can I download that WinPCIN program, or should I buy it, which version is suitable for such an old machine and which Windows can support that program.

There are a lot of questions, I am not very familiar with software problems.

 @kicotrog, I suggest you to find and try PC with "WinPCIN" to MMC103 --transfer simple NC program, to see it is good for you --in and out

@cncnik, for 840D, you must use winpcin instead of PCIN

You need PCIN program from SinuCom software package to restore backups via RS-232 interface. Also you should have RS-232 connection cable.

In attached archive you'll find procedure for restoring backup via RS-232, description of PCIN software and RS-232 cable pin assignment.
