I have extension module 6ES7 223-1BL32-0XB0, connected to PLC 1214. The problem is that the extension module doesn't work at all. No LED's lights, even the DIAG LED stays OFF.

What could be the reason for this and what could cause this? When I replace the module with new one everything is OK.

The module is defective. It can be returned to Siemens for replacement or repair.

Just for information, what is the serial number of the module?

The serial number is SV-K7C59589 2018. If this is the serial number.

Yes that is the serial number. 

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to know when it was manufactured July 2018 from the digits K7 in the serial number (K=2018, 7=July).
