I’m stuck and I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

I’m working with an S7-300 (CPU 315-2 PN/DP) connected to nine ET200SP stations as slaves in a Profinet setup (Step7 – SIMATIC Manager).

Normally, if a station goes offline, I can simply go online with my laptop and check the diagnostic buffer to see which station has failed. But what I want now is to transfer the station status to an HMI, so operators can immediately see which specific ET200SP went offline, without needing to connect a laptop.

I do know that OB86 is meant to detect station failures, but almost all the examples I had came across only uses Profibus, and not Profinet. When I test it on my Profinet setup, I can see the failing station in the diagnostic buffer (for example in the screenshot attached: station no. 3, input address: 2043).

But the problem was that; I want to store the online/offline status of each ET200SP in a DB (so I can pass it to the HMI). 

I’ve tried using OB86_MDL_ADDR and LB11, but they don’t seem to give me the actual affected station address and they only point to the "basic address of the IO controller". So no matter which station I unplug, I always get the same address, which makes it useless for distinguishing stations.

Is there a way that I could read the exact address (or ID) of the affected ET200SP station when it goes offline. So that I could store it in a DB and send it to my HMI for clear fault indication.

You can try to play with SZL-lists, for example link and link

it uses the RDSYSST instruction to read a system datarecord. Depends on what you feed it for SZL-id, i'd suggest W#16#0294. Don't have a S7-300 to test.
