Jorge Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	I have a CPU 315-2dp withCP 343-1ex21-0ex0, the communication is made with a OPC Server, in this case the TOPSERVER of Toolbox Software. Ever since the request of data is made from the program client until they are received the data pass 300ms aprox. .Is this normal?

If you have only a few bytes this is too much, if you have 2 or 3 kBytes this is not really much, even over Ethernet. As I see it from the point of the SIMATIC NET OPC Server, just for you to know. Jorge Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	I read in packages of 200 bytes and it oscillates to me between 200 and 300ms. Something that calls the attention to me is that an s7-200 takes much less time in responding. greetings

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello Jorge, well, if there are only 200 Bytes you read and / or write the time is much too high. As a matter of fact I can not say what could be the reason, especially as you use a OPC Server I do not know. One last Idea would be to check if you have the latest FW Version of the CP. Check this link to get the latest Version 1.1: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22037154 From my experience I expect that the CP 343-1 EX 21 is faster than the CP 243-1 but it is hard to say what could be the reason. Have you checked if the response time of the CP could be very high? How big is your OB 1 cycle? Best regards J_Bell

Jorge Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	The scan cycle is aprox. 15 ms The configure Scan Cycle load for communications is 50% if I do a ping with a package of 64 Kb to the direction of s7-300 responds in 75ms, whereas if I do a ping to the direction of s7-200 responds in 35ms, are normal these times?

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello Jorge, would you tell me why you want to send 64 k for a Ping? The CP 343-1 does not support such long buffers. If you would check with a Ethereal Monitor. What happens when you do a Ping without the option -i ? I would really try to see online, with monitoring Software, what is going on within your Network. Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello Jorge, I am really sorry but if the fact about the OB 1 Cycle is true I have no clue why it does not work faster. One thing that jumps to my mind is that if you have a lot of connections running on the system that could slow the whole thing down. Also if you have a MPI Network connected, this may slow the communication capability of the CPU down. But if all that is not on your site I would really try to use a SIMATIC NET OPC Server to see if it is the same case with this one, if yes I would contact the SIMATIC Hotline because than we have a systematic fault that has to be investigated.
