Hi experts

I have downloaded a library in . Zal14 format.

But how do I open it in tia portal v14?

Wen I go to library's and want to add, I can't see the file I the selected folder, where I know it is. Like its not is a supported file type.

This is an archived library. You have to retrive it under „Options - Global libraries - Retrieve“

This works for all "ZAL" files

zal13 / zal14 / zal15 / zal15_1

Should I not able to retrieve a zal15_1 file with TIA v15 Update 4. 

"Retrieve archived global library" will not recognize the file, it do recognize a zal14 file.

 zal15_1 is used by library functionality in Step7 V15.1 and will not open in V15.

Keep in mind that the 7ZIP (3rd party) application is able to unzip a ZAP or ZAL archive. But still V15 cannot use a V15.1 file.

If you have a license for Step7 V15, then you can run in parallel V15.1. The files are available for download from Siemens' support web site -- BUT you need to have your download privileges activated separately.
