M440 Tripping due to Active load causing regeneration

Jan Smit Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Our 15kw unit driving an 11kw motor is tripping (fault A0910) because an active load is causing the motor to go into regerative mode. Can this be prevented with a brake resitor? If so what parameters need setting?

Jan Smit Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi Guys, Thanks for the help. My problem is I am NOT braking. External forces are driving the motor forward causing regeneration while I am in run mode. Is there any way to use the braking resistor when not braking to prevent this trip?

This breaking resistor will come in picture whenever your motor gets regenerated and DC link voltage rises above threshold value. Breaking resistor doesnt care about reason of rise in voltage. It simply being connected (with help of chopper - in built for MM440 below frame size Fx Gx) whenever dc voltage is increased and thus drive stop tripping on DC over Voltage fault I hope I am clear to you Regards, Devesh Vithani

I already have Braking resistors installed but they dont even get warm so i did not know if they came into play during the regenertaion. What parameters should I set? Is there any way of monitoring the DC link voltage. Sorry for all the questions but Im not familiar ith Siemens drives.
