PDM 8.0 SP2 Device Library

Import-User-1 Posts: 3609 Rating: (29)	Import of a Technical Question of the User in218815 in218815 Hi, I am using PDM 8.0 SP2 with STEP7 5.5 SP3. I am having a Rosemount 8732E ultrasonic level sensor on Profibus PA. The device is not listed in Integrated Devices list of any version of PDM. I have downloaded the GDS from suppliers website and it is available in S7 hardware catalog under Profibus PA. But when i am trying to define device type by double clicking on the added device in hardware config, the device is not listed. Please suggest how to add this device. Whether it will work if i add the device only to Hardware config and not in PDM.

If you want to parameterise the device with PDM you need an EDD. Have a look at the supliers website for the EDD for that device. If you can parameterise the device in an other way (what is very likely), e.g. with an own software using a local interface or just by an onboard key set / display, it will work with the controller. Regards...
