You should therefore conntact the Ansaldo drives rep who provided you the drives to request the correct gsd for your drive and the corresponding manuals.

Since you mention a Siemens gsd file in your post, siem8035, which is normally dedicated to a Masterdrive CBPx Profibus slave module, this could be an easy solution. Is this gsd file number mentionned in a document for Ansaldo drives? Normally each manufacturer of a Profibus slave should provide his own gsd file adapted to that specific slave.

If you are using a Siemens PLC the CBPx gsd file is already part of the Profibus-DP catalog (inside the Step 7 HWConfig editor). So you would not have to integrate the gsd file above in the catalog, one less step.
PPOx are standard telegrams used to exchage data between a controller and a Siemens drive over Profibus. PPO3 is the smallest and simples, a 2-word IN/OUT telegram that gives you access to the control word (16 bits to command the start/Stop/Jog of the drive) and a Reference Speed word that allows you to give a speed setpoint to the drive.
Siemens' Masterdrives use a hex value of 4000 to request 100% of maximum speed parametrized in the drive, hex 2000 for 50%, hex 1000 for 25%...
So you would need to know how the Ansaldo drives need to be commanded and how they accept the speed setpoint for this to work,as they probably operate differently from a Masterdrive. The first manual proposed has a chapter on theProfibus-DP interface to the Ansaldo drive, please study it well.
