I have a sinumerik 828d and a sinamics s120 drive.
I only control one axis. I would like to launch
the safety function STO. Do I need any additional module?
Maybe someone has a connection diagram to implement
the safety function?

Siemens Safety Integrated is really a thing one should be a specialist to use.

But to answer your question, Safety Integrated / Basic Functions

Which are

STO (Safe Torque Off)

SS1 (Safe Stop 1)

SBC (Safe Brake Control)

Can be implemented with regular safety controllers going to the onboard terminals already on the PPU, and buy the license needed for safety integrated, which is one pr axis.

If one wants to implement more advanced safety functions, which siemens calls "Safety Integrated / Extended Functions" one need a unit called TM54F for the Sinumerik 828D
