WinCC RT Overload: Too many simultaneous actions

desmul24 Posts: 378 Rating: (73)	Hi All, I have developed HMI program for a machine, the machine has CPU-314 DP I had used a desktop PC (1GB RAM, 80GB HD) Windows XP SP2 and installed WinCC flexible 2008 Runtime interfaced to PLC by MPI SIMATIC PC USB adapter. My problem is some times during switching screen, the screen freezes (for around 10seconds) and on my alarm screen a system alarm "No. 180001 Description Overload: Too many simultaneous actions" appears. My screen program has a lot of scripts and tags, on my program's Object properties: Number of power tags used=804; Memory size needed at runtime= 1028188 Byte. So please suggest me how can I resolve this issue? How could I determine from my program the required specification for my PC? Thanks and regards

Most of my tags have acquisition time of 1s, I can not go higer than this but is there any means to solve by upgrading my pc spec?

Thanks and regards It is clear that you run some scripts at the screen load. Try to reduce the number of scripts at loading the screen. I don't think this has anything to do with the number of tags or the aquisition cycle.

Thanks and regards On Screen "Loaded" events that might be too many action are called, if possible try to shorten your VB scrip (if used) to avoid such malfunction. . And my suggestion is to increase your RAM also. .

Thanks and regards Hidesmul24 If you exceeded the 1GB Ram to 3GB this will enhance the performance Hidesmul24 I still recommend extending your RAM. I remembered this happened to me previously and I extended the memory and it was solved

Today I have upgraded my RAM to 2GB and I see some improvement but when I upgrade further to 4GB I have seen no addtional improvement. Is there any one who can tell me what I have to upgrade in order to increase my program performance? What the number "Number of power tags used=804; Memory size needed at runtime= 1028188 Byte." tells? Thanks and regards

Thanks and regards I think Win XP supports RAM up to 4 GB RAM, but if you have a VGA that uses shared memory, then the available RAM is decreased by the VGA needs. Still I think that the problem is that you use too much actions in one time than the WinCC flexible can handle (something like multiprocessing).
