Group diagnosis

When the "Group diagnosis" check box is enabled and a diagnostic event occurs, the appropriate information is entered into the diagnostic data area of the module.

The analog module can detect the following diagnostic events:

Configuration/parameter assignment error

Common mode error (not for Ex modules)

Wire break (requirement: wire break check is activated)

Effective range underflow (not for AI 4x14 bit, Ex)

Effective range overflow

Missing load voltage L+ (not for AI 8x14 bit, Ex)

With wire break check

You use the wire break check to monitor the input to sensor interconnection.

Method: Before every encoding of the input value, a constant current is applied to the input terminals for a short period. The voltage that results is checked against a limit value. If the voltage exceeds the limit value, there is an interruption in either the sensor or the input line, and the module reports a wire break diagnostic event.

The wire break check cannot be set / does not work when:

· the measurement type voltage with a measuring range greater than +/- 250 mV is set

· there is a voltage divider in the input circuit

When an analog input module that operates with a current measurement range of 4 to 20 mA reaches the underflow range, a wire break is reported.
