Connecting to the PLC and HMI behind NAT

@AutoGen_898770 Joined: 8/2/2024 Last visit: 2/14/2025 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello, I need to connect to the PLC and HMI, that is behind NAT, i.e. the devices have their own network (192.168.11.0/24) and I have my PC in different network (172.30.188.0/24). The NAT is configured to translate the PLC and HMI addresses for me. Now how to configure the PLC and HMI in TIA Portal V18, so that they will retain their IP addresses for their local network and I would be able to connect to them from my PC using my PC network? Thank you.

I recommend typically to take a look at this document where are described some cfg options depended to specific available cfg and expected needs. generally, standard routing with set of Gateway inside IP cfg is expected but this is really up to your actual HW cfg and it is not easy to recommend something exactly. I have find out that I need to use connect "Extended go online..." so that I can enter the external NAT IP address for the CPU. This should be possible only if the project in TIA Portal already contains the CPU, but if I do not have the project opened, is there a way to connect to the CPU behind NAT? Thank you.
