Hi.. Thanks for the reply.. Now i have one problem..according to pdf available on these links,i understands that if i want to hook up IM 151-8 PN/DP with GATEWAY on IE, i need to go for MODBUS TCP... Is there any alternative..? Another problem is i dont have purchased genuine licence for S7 OpenModbus/TCP Software ...currently i have downloaded demo version from site because its urgent. Now, how long can i use this demo software without any problem? What problems i have to face if i continue with this demo. |

Hello paytel; I don't have the answers to these questions. User Wustenrauber seems to be the expert on IT4Industry, developpers of the Open Modbus/TCP package. He might be able to help you more, either through this thread or by private message. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hi, I don't know any other possibility to connect the IM151-8 PN/CP to the gateway. The demo version has no time limitation. The "restriction" is a blinking SF/INTF-LED, some entries in the diagnostic buffer of the CPU and a status A090 on the modbus block. The modbus communication is running always. Wüstenräuber |

Hi.. Thanks to all..... You all have cleared my lot of doubts.... Still one quey is there..If i use DEMO version and IF I dont want to have SF/INTF LED on CPU,is there any provision for that? Means if there are any SYSTEM BLOCKS or ERROR OBs that needs to called.so that SF/INTF LED will not blink on CPU. Please let me know if there are any..? |

Hi..everybody.. Thanks a lot everybody.. Sorry for one more querry..Now, as you told, modbus will work continuosly except that RED SF/INTF on CPU. Cant we clear that RED LED with any system block or ERROR OBs. Means i want to know if there are any BLOCKS or ERROR OBs, using which we can clear RED LED on cpu. |

No! In demo version this LED is blinking always. Only if you have a valid license this LED is not blinking. But for a modbus communication test the LED status is really not important... Wüstenräuber |
