Masterdrive Overcurrent ::VERY URGENT

Patrikk Posts: 131 Rating: (1)	Dear all, we are experiencing the following problem: we have a masterdrive VC that runs a conveyor belt that feeds the Raw Meal Mill.There is over load on the belt, every time we have a piece of rock that squeeze between the hopper and the belt the V.F.D trips instantly on over load.we tried to change the Imax to a higher value (P128) but we couldn't change it.also some other parameters we couldnt change also. plz tell me wat i should do to change the P128 parameer.is there sometng to do with access level ? i want to change frm the BOP and not frm the PG bcoz it is broken.thank u for ur help.

WARNING, Don't exceed the drive rating, and observe the following found under the parameter help. Don't forget, F011 faults are intended to protect the drive during an overcurrent, is the machine designed to continue running when you have a rock jamming on the conveyor. P128 Imax Function parameter for setting the maximum curent (fundamental rms) This parameter sets the setpoint for current limitation to protect the motor and the drive (Imax controller for v/f control modes or current controller for vector control modes). Setting range: 0.125 to 4,00 * Imot,n , but maximum 1.36 or 1.6 * Iconv,n (P72). depending on the type of converter. During automatic parameterization (P115 = 1) and motor data identification (P115 = 2, 3), the value is pre-set to 1.5 times the rated motor current (P102). Reaction (derating) may result from the pulse frequence parameter change (P340).

Tanabalan Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Dear Patrikk. Rather then adjust the parameter on the drive, i may suggest that you may need to do some modification (install grid on top part of hopper) on the hopper to control the cargo sizes which is pass thru the hopper. regards Tanabalan

Patrikk Posts: 131 Rating: (1)	Dear all, thanks for ur feedback. yesterday we encountered again the F011 fault. the recorded value at r785 (Iscat tripping)was 21.5 amps and which is normal (the drive is 15kw).our appplication do not include an encoder feedback. so wat do u think i might try? the CUVC board? does the measurements are coming faulty and then causing the drive to trip?

I never thought of that but I have actually done that more than once after swopping a card. And you are right it could be that. Just out of interest give it a P115-2 and see what happens afterwards. If there is something wrong with the drive, cable or motor this commisioning run will usually pick it up.
