a little late on this, and I apologise for bumping up this old post, but I'm facing some problems with an ET200SP CPU1510 and some IM55-6PN BA modules.

If I try to use some spare IM155, that have already been used somwhere else in the factory, the CPU is not assigning the new names even the topology is wired as configured.

From the online help I found this:

For S7-1500 CPUs with firmware version V1.5 or higher, it is not necessary to reset IO devices with an existing parameter assignment to delivery state.

But I'm wondering is this refers to S7-1500 standard CPU (rack, like CPU 1511) or all 1500 family ET200SP included.

Any help on this?

To use this function, the way from CPU to IO device should be configured in the Topology view.

The CPU settings stay on Device view, CPU properties, PROFINET Interface, Advanced option, Interface option: “Support device replacement without exchangeable medion” / “Permit overwriting of device names of all assigned IO devices”.

It is very important to be sure that the PROFINET IO devices wiring follow strictly the configured in the Topology view, under the risk to miss addressing of the IO devices.

Just some IO devices (e.g. newers) supports this function.
