Hello Balls; My recommendation would depend on the way you plan to do your conversion. A Coordinator card implies your 2 CPUs are working as "multicomputing" processors.S7-300 CPUs, although the S7-317 and S7-319 have more than enough memory and processing power to take over for both of the S5 CPus, do not support multicomputing. Only S7-400 CPUs do. So, briefly: you want to convert each S5-CPU program independantly and load it into a separate S7-CPU, but keep about the same I/O structure and multicomuting: choose 2 S7-412-1 (or better S7-412-2s they would give you a lot of extra memory and reserve processing power). There would not even be a need for extra memory cards (unless you favor EPROM backup) for this application. Just make sure you integrate the S7 multicomputing OB60 into each program after conversion. You are ready to rebuild the application and reprogram it into a single CPU? Then either a S7-317-2DP or a S7412-2DP will cover your basic needs; it would be a matter of cost and familiarity to choose. If you want specs on the possible CPUs, have a look at the Siemens Mall website; you can look for details about your CPUs by searching fior them by name or part number. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
