Hi Neil, How the communication is called in cycle with OB1 is going to hamper you. I think you have a good idea using a cycle interrupt - worth a try. Do consider that these blocks trigger on a edge trigger on the request (REQ) input. That means you have to give the block chance to realise that the REQ pin has switched off. This means the rate of the cycle interrupt would be more than what you actually need. Do these thoughts help?
The UDP protocol (User Datagram Protocol) was implemented for performance reasons. It offers multiple possibilities of use due to its slim frame header. In addition, almost every component in Industrial Ethernet supports the UDP protocol. The unacknowledged transfer of the data has unfavorable consequences. |
