Shivaji Patil Posts: 140 Rating: (1)	Dear Experts, With this software I tried to down load the project which has CPU 317-2PN/DP but no sucess. I could copy the project with block copy function .But with this I could run the programme in Simulation mode but Can not monitor it as Online monitoring also say could not reach the CPU. Also I tried with other S7 projects which have S7 414 CPU Here i could dierctly down load the project to Simulation and test as normal. Please suggest how to proceed further. I have STEP7 V5.4 Please suggest

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 9/14/2025 Posts: 3049 Rating: (1062)	Hello ShiRaPatil older PLCSIm version (from memory every version before V5.4 SP1 but don't quote me on that) require an MPI connection(for which you needed to set your PG/PC interface as well asCPU in your HWconfig which has an MPI port). I wonder as such if your MPI/DP port of your 317 PN/DP is set to DPin which case it would explain the problem you are having. Ideally you upgrade to the latest PLCSIM (V5.4 SP3), but as a workaround you can of course change your CPU's MPI/DP port to MPI (should the above be the problem). I hope this helps
