Hello Jigs_C; You select a CPU based on the size of the work memory that it can handle, the amount of I/O [digital and analog] it supports, the on-board communication interfaces it presents... There are many ways of getting this type of information, the HWConfig editor shows details of every CPU you wish to select in your configuration, the A&D Mall is an on-line catalog that you can access on the web. The Product Support (see the link at the top of this page) allows you access to all manuals from A&D (Siemens' automation and drives division).
