Dear Users, I have a question about WinCC Advanced Engineering and Real time. Is WinCC Advanced Engineering License sufficient If I have just one combined operation and engineering station or I should prepare a seperate Runtime license for monitoring? If WinCC advanced can cover also runtime of one system How many power tag is limitation for. As the description that I find in Siemens portal as below, WinCC advanced engineering could used for configuration of SIMATIC Panels, WinCC Runtime Advanced, WinCC Unified PC Runtime. I need to have relevant reference for any response. Regards ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hi DanBau, In this case, you need a WinCC Advanced Engineering License to program the RT and then you need a WinCC Advanced RT License to be able to run the RT on the PC and to be able to visualize it. So in this case you need 2 different licenses. On the other hand, please note that the WinCC Advanced Engineering License only allows you to program projects for HMI Basic/Comfort and RT Advanced devices. To program HMI Unified or Unified PC Runtime panels, you need an extra Unified Engineering license. I hope I have been able to clarify your doubts! |

Hi DanBau, Yes, sorry, from version V18 or V19 onwards, with the WinCC Advanced engineering license you can program the Unifieds it is not a separate license. On the other hand, answering your question, yes you need a separate WinCC Advanced RT license to run the project on the PC. But in order to set up the project you need WinCC Advanced Engineering to create the project from a RT Advanced. Therefore you need a WinCC Advanced Engineering license to create the project and a WinCC Advanced RT license to work with the project loaded on the PC. I hope I have explained myself correctly. |
