Hello, Check the same issue here and attachment for the reason: CONVERSION SCL-->AWL (max number of lines) smiffy I am guessing, but I think dstudio is wanting to open a block in STL that was originally written in SCL. So he/she has taken some SCL, compiled it and then opened the resultant block in the STL editor. I have done this in the past, and dstudio is correct, the STL is all in one large network and thus the STL editor / tools do not work well with such a large network. To split it into smaller networks requires manual editing of the STL code. I know of no way that you can get the SCL compiler to produce STL code that is broken into a number of smaller networks - it always puts it into one large network. Regards, Marcjan Hello Marcjan, Like Geeks and Book worms ,there are programmers, who are lazy in nature to handle LAD and FBD and like STL because of its unique complexity and close to machine behavior. I like STL very much because I implement my code as I brainstorm in a network but I believe for a giant algorithm,SCL is more efficient. I never care about the converted version because compiler works perfectly instead of me. Checking a compiled version of an SCL source code may be because of curiosity but the majority of users surrender when they encounter headache and complexity ahead. Best regards, Hamid Hosseini

O.k. to see how SCL looks like after conversion to STL you only do that once i think, to change anything in the STL code and still have a working program i don't think so for most user (including me) Regards, Marcjan

Regards, Marcjan Well for me, it is to check how efficient the resultant STL code is. The SCL compiler quite often produces some very poor STL code (it seems to lack any form of optimisation like what a 'c' compiler would give you). Changing the way the SCL is coded can sometimes help the SCL compiler to produce better STL code. For example: breaking down one line into several with intermediate variables, changing the order of operations.

The SCL source with comments is so much easier and faster to read than machine translated STL. I'm currently editing a 6 years old code made by a person unknown, and one of the blocks he has made had no source code left, only 900 lines of the translated STL with no comments. Do not let that happen to your program, always keep the sources.

Very good plan. hdhosseini SCL to STL is possible.Simply compile the SCL codes in the editor and delete the source file,now your codes are pure converted version of STL. Regards You don't actually need to delete the SCL code to view the code in STL format. To do this, open the STL/FBD/LAD editor by double clicking on a different FC/FB/OB that is not based on SCL code (the OB can even be completly empty). One the editor is open, select File->Open and then select your SCL based FB/FC from the list in the right hand window.
