The DP interface is configured in the MSS system using the engineering tool "Modular Safety System ES".

Matching configurations must be carried out in both engineering tools.

The first manual suggested shows in detailall the data exchanges that can be setup with a DP-master. A brief description can be found here:

Delivery release: 3RK3 Modular Safety System

The DP-Interface module serves the transmission of diagnostics and device state data to a superior PROFIBUS network. It supports the cyclic exchange of up to 32 bit with the control. Diagnostics data can be called up acyclically.

For diagostics, you can read datasets using SFB52 or SFC59, seesection 8.4 "Diagnostics with Profibus". Look also at thie following FAQ:
