Dear All,

Has anyone managed to successfully send an email from a CP1242-7 (Siemens 1200 system) using a Gmail account? We have tried both messages and TMAIL_C instructions and always get 8412 error message, which relates to the DNS server. We are using the 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 DNS servers for google but are not sure this is correct. We are using an EE SIM card that is enabled for both data and SMS, we can send SMS from the CP card without any problems.

General settings are

TMail_FQDN, Enable SSL/TLS from port 587

We have loaded all the certificates to enable the use of the port.

Sending Email By Using Gmail accounts possible but you have to decrease the Gmainl accounts securities till the lowest level 

Hi, A sample application would be useful.

Were you able to do this using a dynamic IP address for the gmail? 

We have reduced the security of the gmail account to a minimum also.

Yes, You don't need any static IP for sending email. In logic, we have to use the IP of mail server which is static.

See the attached doc file. 

The good news is that after using the GMX email account we can now send email via the CP card using not only messages function but also the TMail_C instruction. Although we can not seem to get messages and TMail_C to work within the same project.

But does anyone know how to read the attachment when it is received? We have changed the extension to .txt. and .csv but the array of 10 bytes with various values in them just reads as wingdings.

I can't get it work. The reason might because the IP does not correct. The IP you provided 74.208.5.1 is mail.gmx.net, it is not working in my testing. btw, in malaysia i ping mail.gmx.net is 212.227.17.164 for yesterday, today it become 212.227.17.190.

Then, I found it should b mail.gmx.com or smtp.gmx.com under gmx mail setting, which is actually 212.227.17.184. So, basically i cant get the actual IP of the mail server and it might b the failure reason.

hope to find the solution though, the testing from 2013 until 2017, TIA V10 to V13, none of it working.
