Hello to all . I'm new in tia portal. My version is V13 sp1.

I would like to have a complete cross reference like step 7

In other word , in step 7 was possible in cross reference, select also DB and specify the number. More DB was possible to specify using semicolon (;) between DBxx

Now i do not understand how to do .

Anyone have a suggest for me ?

I can not believe what I'm seeing. I'm new to tia portal, but it is one thing to prehistory. The old step 5 under DOS working better. I've read a lot of negative comments.

Siemens is crazy? Already 3-4 version whitout cross reference

I think they know exactly what's going on ... In any case, the team that developed this software is insane !!!. the cross reference it seems to me basic.

Before returning to the level of step 7, I believe that it will be years.

I'd rather some more basic problems get sorted out first, like

Why do I have to go to online and diagnostics and set up a port each time I connect to a different device in the project?  They are on the same damn connection.

Why is there no support for any other drives than the G series?

Why do I have to use the silly StartDrive instead of the far superior Starter?

The list goes on and on.

The list is very very big. I'm a big fan of Siemens. During a workshop a Siemens rapporteur tried to convince me and other participants that TIA is a great product and that exceeds the old step 7.
I know that is necessary to say this, but as you can 'say this when the reality is so different ?

We are a stupid ? All the people who are complaining are stupid?

Something good but I'm finding in tia but it is very little.

Siemens are working is also proven by the last update: 2.5 gb !!!

At present Siemens is losing customers. I'm sorry but my boss has noticed that development time is much higher than previous is thinking about changing brand. I continue to hope that a saint, take the right path to Siemens and a morning we find a good news into Siemens site : a new version without big problems. I think that is a dream ... for now

Yes, I got the same feedback from field.

In fact, there are customers that are talking about using i.e. Allen Bradley in future, because they do not have any benefit from TIA but have already used AB in the past and now they like to change completely.
They want to reduce costs and developing time, and TIA can not help them / us in this way (or in some other way...).

Siemens threw away all experience of the last 20 years of Step7 PLC, that is really a shame.

A leader should be based on the market. 
To ignore customer requests in arrogant ignorance will not work for good.

You are absolutely right!!!

In my opinion the Tia development team didn't know Step7 at all.

A small but significant evidence of this is the different button position in Open project window....

Probably this is not the worst regression but drives me crazy.... 

We hope in next releases.....

maybe when installation file will reach 1TB we will have all the function we need...
