I know it's 2023 but I'm currently having the same problem I am trying to communicate a WinCC 7.2.0.0 with an S7-1500 PLC.Unfortunately, I can't.I tried. I tried communication with a WinCC7.5 and an S7-1500 PLC->Same result BUT it works with SIMATIC NET v17 installed. (and some modification of paramater...and finally work but not known all actions needed to work) Conclusion: I need simatic NET. But that the winCC 7.2 is installed on a windows 7 x64 so I cannot install the v17 version of SIMATIC NET. I am therefore looking for a link to download a SIMATIC NET 8.1 version. PS: After reading the documentation, I understand (please confirm) that the SIMATIC S7 Protocol suite works only with S7-300 and S7-400.It is therefore necessary in all cases to use: SIMATIC S7-1200, S7-1500 Channel Thank for you help. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello Oilgear Yes its right that you cannot communicate to S71200/1500 with S7 Protocol suite. You would need the S71200/1500 channel for this. If you have a newer FW Version if the PLCs then you could also use the integrated OPC UA Server on it and in WinCC the OPC Ua Channel. But If you have a WinCC Version that uses already the S71200/1500 channel then you should use this. here are some general information: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/101908495 Bye Murof |
