Hi, Modbus is a very common protocol on industry and basically it works this way: 1. Server: waits for request from clients. 2. Client: send a request to server (read/write) 3: Server: Responses the request and sends it to client. this link may help you to understand how modbus works: https://product-help.schneider-electric.com/ED/PowerTag/Smartlink_SIB/EDMS/DOCA0123EN/DOCA0123xx/Details_of_Modbus_Functions/Details_of_Modbus_Functions-2.html So, if your power meter is properly configured as Server it should accept any connection, what you need to do on PLC client side is: configure the server address (IP, PORT), configure the function that you need (read/write) I think is read in your case specify the area that you wanna read, (modbus always reads a group of holding registers from initial offset to the length of the data up to 256 bytes) The interfaceID and ConnectionID are parameters only for plc 1200 side. see the manual section 4 for more information about that.
