after setting the IP with the PST Tool, could you ping this Address? If not, would you plese explain how you did the configuration with the PST Tool.

It's not so hard to set up a WDS connection.I will try to explain it the way I am used to this, that's not according to the FAQ.

This epplanation is usfull from FW: 3.3.15 and maybe 3.1.26 but I guess you have the newer 3.4.4 version. If not you can update your Access Point towards 3.4.4. Which is recommended.

First of all you need to be able to get in the Web Based Managers of both Scalance W modules. Their you just use the Basic Wizard. You can find this in the menu wizard I believe. You must disable the option: Auto Channel Select and you need to set the channel your self. Important is that both the Scalance W modules use the same channel and standard for eample IEEE 802.11 g with Channel 1. Which channel is depending on your situation but let's usethis one to get an easy start, you can change this easily.

Furthermore you hae been requested to fill in the System Name of the Access Points, they can't be identical so for example you use AP Left and AP Right. Write down what you have used for which AP since they are important later.

Reboot the Access Points with the option System >> Restart >> Restart the Device Know you have setup the Wireless Interface for both AP's.

As you want to use this Access Points for an application I recommend you to use the security option authentication type WPA-PSK with the cipher AES. You must enable this in the Security menu. Click on Basic WLAN and create the screen as you see it below (this screen is also in the FAQ). Write down your Passphrase since you need exactly the same for the 2nd Access Point.



Click on Set Values and reboot the Access Points. Now you have to seperated Access Points completly configured. They are secured and working on the same fixed channel.

Know comes the part to setup the WDS. Open the WDS meu (Bridge >> WDS) and selected the first row by enabling the SEL button. Then you need to enable the encypted option and in the rolout menu you need to selected the correct security option. I'm sorry thatI can't get the correct printscreen for the WPA Option but I'm sure that's all clear when you have the AP's on your desk.



So just do it step by step. If you are stuck at a part please let us know where.
