S5-115U FB Call & S7-300 FC Call

GTEK_EC Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I'm in the process of converting an S5 program toS7. I've encountered a problem relating to passed parameters for a function. In the original S5 program, an FB (FB_X) was called from another FB with 2 parameters (A & B) Code of original FB call: L PW128 JU FB109 Name: FB_X A: KF-256 B: KF2304 So FB_X would work on the value in ACCU1 (PW128) using parameters A and B. Based on my limited knowledge, the parameter values A&B are transferred via the L-stack memory for block usage. After converting the program into S7, the FB has become an FC. When the code is called, it seems that the parameters A and B are being shifted into ACCU2 and ACCU1(respectively)which pushes out the value of PW128 which I needed to act on in the first place. Can anyone confirm that this is what happens on an FC call - that the passed parameters actually get pushed through the accumulator memory space? And if anyone has dealt with this before, what is the best way to work around it (ideally with minimal code changes)? Right now, it looks like I might have to create a new parameter for the FC block and actually pass the value as an actual parameter. Thanks. Ed

Ates Posts: 198 Rating: (19)	i just quickly tried it with s7 sim and s5 sim, s7 uses both acu 1 acu 2 for passing parameters.. s5 does not so he is totally right. butthere is recently topic about uc call and ow passing the parameters under industrial software forum.. maybe with uc or with some other call methodssomething can be done. anyway i suggest you to look in to s5's fb and decide to passing the acu1 as parameter if necessary.. I must tell anyway calling an fb and using acu1 in it without passing is very interesting and i should not use that way ... Attachment s5s7.zip (322 Downloads)

Because this was a program conversion, I had wanted to minimize the changes that I would need to make - but if that's the way it is... Thanks for the help all. Ed
