Hello mrbundle, you should try to optimize your update cycle for the variables. Maybe you did it already, because you mentioned, that you reduced the amount of the float variables ... For variables which don't change their value very often you may take a longer update cycle. For the remaining part, which has to be actualized very often you may take a shorter one. Maybe a look at the Performance Dataof WinCC could also bring some interesting news for you. If this alone will not help you to solve the problem, please let me know something more about your whole constellation. What else do you have in your project? Which PC do you have? Hello mrbundle, today I asked one of my colleagues, who is still familiar with SIMATIC S5. He told me that you have too many values, which should be actualised in a too short time. I just can repeat, what I suggested already to you in my first answers, that you have to reduce the tags which have to be actualised in 500 ms.
S5 sends a telegramm for each data block. So one thing you could try to do is, to"compress" your temperature values together into a lower number of data blocks. I think, to solve your problem completely you need help, that someone takes a look at your PLC-programm and into your WinCC-project to optimize it. This can't be done in the Forum. Either you find a helpful person in your closer environment, who will help you without wanting some money, or you have to contact Siemens and inform yourself, concerning the possibilities and costs you will have. As I don't know which country you are from, I don't know which possibilities you have got. You could try to contact your Siemens sales manager and he will make a contact with somebody who can help you, or you contact Siemens Technical Support Best regards Bizur |
