Tryggvi Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello! I have 2 S7-1200 plc's. They are identical 1211C AC/DC/RLY One of them I have programmed and it works fine but there other is giving me some problems. I did a factory reset and wiped the IP address. Gave it a new ip on the same subnet as the other plc and my PC. When I try to go online via TIA Portal v11. it keeps saying the device is not compatible. I can flash the LED's and it is clearly showing as accessible with the correct MAC. This made me think I had selected the wrong CPU in the project but that was not the case but I made a new project with an unspecified cpu and detected the hardware but that was the same story. I feel like I have tried everything and I am started to think the PLC is malfunctioning. so the setup is PLC_1 (Working) ip xxx.xxx.xxx.10 PLC_2(Not working) ip xxx.xxx.xxx.5 PC with Portal ip xxx.xxx.xxx.9 TIA Portal V11 With SP2 update 5 PLC firmware v2.2.0

If you create a blank project for your plc, can you compile and download to the problem plc?

Diagnosic Status: OK Diagnosis Buffer: There are several events but none seem alarming. 1 example: CPU info: New startup information Pending startup inhibit(s): - Operating mode change not allowed while loading the HW configuration - Manual warm restart required There is one thing though that did look suspicious, The time and date was wrong but setting that to the correct value did not help. Another inconsistency is the module name, The project is looking for something called PLC_2 but the PLC name is CPUcommon

What happens to the status LEDs when it powers up that is unlike the plc that works (if anything)? Does it suddenly allow you to download to it? Try just downloading the hardware configuration without the program blocks.

At power up yellow Run/Stop and Red Error Leds are on for 2-3 seconds and then all 3 LED's blink 4-5 times. After witch the yellow Run/Stop led is on. The Error apears when I try to got online to the plc not alowing me to install the hardware config nor the program blocks.

Since your PLCs have FW 3.0, you will need to change the plc in your project(s) to reflect this FW version (the S7-1211 is only available in FW3.0). Once you do that, you should be able to download. If your portal does not show FW3.0 as an option, download & install the hardware support pack #0026. (HSP 26). If it is still not compatible, it would be best to contact Siemens via Support Request to help correct the problem.
