931221 Posts: 27 Rating: (0)	hi! I constructed the Ring network with two IRT by using 11 X208. The role of two IRT is Redundancy Manager and edundancy Client. This Ring network was normal for several months. One X208 was downed several days ago. Failure diagnosis LED of X208 had been turned off. And, I was not able to log in this x208. And, PST cannot discover this X208. The transmission rate was 10Mbps though I connected PC directly with this X208.10Mbps is abnormal. I think that 100Mbps of the transmission rate is normal. Four X208 was this time downed several days later. Four X208 seceded this time from the network several days later. I was able to use PST and I.E by connecting PC directly with one of these four HUB. And, the other three X208 was able also to log it in with I.E. The Ring wiring uses all Port1 and 2. And, Port1 and 2 of all HUB are green LED. In a word, physical wiring of all Port1 and Port2 exists. Green LED has blinked to RM of IRT now. There was no error packet though I confirmed Packet of all HUB. There seem to be two troubles in this Ring network. One is a down of one X208. Another is an imperfect Ring network. To solve the first trouble, I installed new X208. However, this trouble cannot be solved. PST cannot discover this X208.The content of the trouble is quite the same. Why cannot the trouble be solved? I do not understand the second trouble. Why have four HUB seceded from other HUB to the existence of the Ring wiring? Someone, please let me knowt the method of settlement. Thanks, 931221 Attachment network.pdf (545 Downloads)

As I understand you correct you are not able to gain access to the X208 which is red and sometimes you can't access the purple ones. Are you really sure that the Ring Client mode is set correct? This since you only mention these term by one X200 IRT switch and not by the X208's. What kind of wiring is used in between the switches? How long are these wires? I also see that the Host PC is connected with 2 wires to the network what do you mean by this? Do you mean that the special Teaming functionality is used with a Network Interface Card which is able to handle this? If you exchange a switch do the problem re-occur? Maybe exchange 2 switches from a good to a not good place? What kind of ping replies do you get on the IP's of those switches? What are the MLFB-numbers of the X208, 6GK5208-0BA00-2AA3 or6GK5208-0BA10-2AA3. And what are the firmware versions of the X208's?

The problem cannot be solved at all though I exchanged AP504 for the new article. Is there a possibility that the trouble of one X208(AP504) causes two or more problems? Thanks, 931221

Yes if the X208 fails and is not as Ring Clientanymoreit could be that the switches around or behind the module get troubled. It isn't nice but it's possible. Could it be that there are some nodes connected to the network which are not able to do Auto Negotiating? Maybe then the X208 are not able to switch over to the right mode. If this is not possible lots of collisions can occur which makes the switch a little bit slower. I think it's a very strange situation what has happend.

HOST PC and HUB of Cisco are special specifications. There is one kind of IP of HOST PC. In Port3(cisco) of two IRT, status of 100M FD and Negotiation is disable.
