Unable to establish a connection in S7-1200 TIA portal

AutoDele Posts: 10 Rating: (0)	Good day experts. For a while now, I have been having a serious challenge with downloading my program on the PLC S7-1200 using TIA portal. In other words, Imy application cannot "Go Online". I am using VMware player 12 as my workstation. That is where I installed the TIA software. I have communication issues please how can I resolve it? Can you ping the PLC IP from the VM? Can you ping the PLC from the Host system? Can you find any device in accessible nodes in TIA? Which PLC you have exactly online? (give use the Ordernumber!) in your first screen TIA is in the detecting phase for the connection, any error message after the search (the the refresh button should be enabled and not inactiv)? See pictures bellow: Hello Auto Dele, If your using antivirus software. kindly disable your Antivirus . And Check your PC -IP address . ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 11/14/2024 Posts: 22452 Rating: (3030)	Hello, ok with NAT you have a problem that the detect not working, here you must enter the IP manually in the adress field in TIA. Klick in the Adress Cell (Acess Adress in the first screen), enther the IP for the PLC and connect it. Note! Accessible Nodes also not working with NAT Mode! Must you use NAT Mode? Better in VM is to use the bridged mode, then TIA can find the direct connected devices because NAT block the search request from TIA! https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/78788417 Regards Christoph

I cannot ping the PLC from the host PC I have S7-1200 CPU 1214C DC/DC/DC (6ES7 214-1AE30-0XB0) to be configured and to download my program. After refreshing, it says, No accessible devices found in selected network

If you don't know the PLC IP you must start a search for accessible devices. Here you get a list of connected devices and can see the IP if is configured. If no IP is configured on the PLC you see only the MAC Adress and you can assign a IP to the PLC from TIA. But all this only works with bridged, not with NAT! Is the PLC directly connected to the PC or do you use a bigger network? Regards Christoph
