Upload Of Backup to V15.1

Two Machine have 2 PLC. 1 PLC development done in TIA V14 & second machine is in V15. But i have TIA V15.1 in My laptop. So Is it possible to upload PLC backup of V14 & V 15 to V15.1 version. or How i acn work on it Thanks

ElonksuM_SN_BN Regular Member Joined: 5/6/2022 Last visit: 7/10/2025 Posts: 589 Rating: (123)	Hi Ashok Naphade, I am afraid that with the V15.1 version it is not possible to upload the V14 or V15 versions as you can check in the following link: "What options are available in STEP 7 (TIA Portal) for uploading when the project version in the CPU no longer matches the version on your PG/PC?" The only possibility to recover a backup would be from the V14 and V15 versions themselves. It is possible that from the Support they can offer you the downloads or the usual commercial that you have. Best regards!

0_Einstein Diamond Expert Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 9/3/2025 Posts: 16056 Rating: (2513)	Some TIA Portal versions offer a "compatibilty" mode where there is a downloadable project (from this support site) that once opened forces the running portal version to allow a lower level portal version project from a PLC. There are only a few versions of portal that offer this. Use F1-Help for whatever version you wish to use and search for compatibility mode. If your version has that option, use the information from the help to use it. For example, I recently had to use a V11 SP2 project in V12. I was able to open the V11 project in V12 in compatibilty mode. Later on, I upgraded the v11 project to v12, but for the short time I wanted to use V12 with a V11 project, it was helpful not to need to install V11.
