I have a RF240R RFID Reader with IO-Link.

This device is connected to a external vendor profinet unit from Festo. This unit is already connect and provide the port and the 32 bytes of in/out.

And using the template below i was already able to check presence of a rfid tag: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/pt/en/view/73565887

However when i trigger read or write functions i never get feedback from the functions. (Inside the FB is stuck inside Switch antenna on).

Question: Should i really use this template or this is just to use on siemens io-link ports? Do i need to configure something with the PCT Tool? What should i put on the port address input of the FB? Is there another way to do this?

I guess the issue is that you are using Festo and library from the FAQ is for CPUs of the SIMATIC S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200 and S7-1500 family.

yes depending on which data you need, you have to configure something with the PCT Tool.

The reader has 3 operation modes.

SIO - no io.link communication, only presence infomation is available

UID - UID of the tags are availble

User data - access to user data of tags
