Hi, I'm new here and i've got a problem with my new TIA portal program.

I'm using TIA version 14 sp1 and got the floating license for Step 7 basic and WinCC Basic. Now I have everything installed I want to open my project and open a program block I get an error saying:

The licensing of STEP 7 Basic could not be completely finished because an internal error occured in the Automation Licensing Manager.

Any idea what the problem is? If I look in the ALM program I see that I have a key for Step 7 Basic and for WinCC Basic.

 I had a similar problem when my ALM was notup to date.

 So I downloaded the update for ALM but still got the same message. I think that the best way for me now is to reinstall everything.

Any progress?

On Windows 10 I had to run TIA Portal as administrator to workaround this problem 

 this is because you have Win10 built version 1703 (Creators update. This version is not supported by Step7 basic V14 SP1. 

have a look to the SW-requirements in the readme-file. chapter 2.3.3

You can only run it as admin.

I have a problem after installing step 7 basic V13 & V14 at windows 10 64bit

the installing proccess was perfect and the licenes key tarasfered OK.

after creating a new project and choosing a new device I have an errosr massege

This problem is still occurring with new installs. I've a desk top running Windows 10 Pro version 1803 OS Build 17134.285 and ALM / TIA works fine. Exactly the same on a new laptop but Windows 10 Home version 1803 and I get the message about ALM error when opening existing projects.

When its says above run as administrator this is nothing more complicated than Right Click start up icon (short cut) and select Run As Administrator.

Job Sorted. Would have thought that after installing hours worth of TIA updates something as simple as this could be built into the install. 

Why does installing Siemens software take so long !!!!!!!!!!! This is 2018 not 1990. Is the software so inefficient coding. Rockwell, Mitsubishi and the rest take minutes to install. Come on Siemens improve your software install, engineers might want to use then.

Windows 10 Build 1803 is not supported, yet: SIMATIC STEP 7 Basic (TIA Portal). You have to use Build 1703.
