Burner Management System Help

leomauro Advanced Member Joined: 5/10/2006 Last visit: 10/17/2024 Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	Dear All Expert and Memebers, I'm trying to use the blocks of the Burner application example for Distributed Safety and F-Systems in a S7-400FH and PCS 7 v8.0 (at the moment with PLCSIM), but I can not get them to work as described in the manual: all initial conditions and interlocks are ok and the chart F_IGNTR seems to work correctly: block valves are opened and the flame detected. At this point must be turned on the burner (F_GAS_BU chart): so the block valves are opened and the flame detected before the timer T_IGN expires, but when the timer T_IGN expires the block valves are closed while they should remain open unless you press the stop burner button push button. There is someone who has already had experience with these blocks, or who has any Step 7 example project for a BMS? Thank You and best regards Mauro

leomauro Advanced Member Joined: 5/10/2006 Last visit: 10/17/2024 Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	Dear all, After an exchange of information with Siemens Technical Support, seems there is a timing problem inside the gas burner function: the signal T_RUN_UP_IN is used twice (at Page 1 and 3). The workaround suggested by tech support is the one shown in the attached file: At page one was added an AND block. In the run sequence it’s inserted after the block F_C3_RES_GAS_RUN. This delays the signal (reset) by one cycle. The final response of Automation & Drives Technical Support was: "This is a open and free function example, when you want to use it on a productive machine you might need a certification for your logics. It does not matter if you use 1:1 our function example or if you modify it, the certification is in both cases is in your responsibility. Nevertheless we will check our function example and possibly will update it. At the moment I can not tell you in detail when a possible new version will be released."
