Database utilities

mrg0731 Member Joined: 10/10/2012 Last visit: 5/20/2024 Posts: 21 Rating: (1)	I'm looking for information on Insight database utilities along the lines of oocheck, oobrowse, etc. Can somebody point me in the right direction. Also is there a version of siteinfo that can be used on the owners workstation. I'm trying to find graphics that are linked to deleted points on a customers site and it is proving quite difficult.

Jon Elling Posts: 26 Rating: (4)	Siteinfo is specific for each version of Insight. For 3.12 it is now installed in the \Insight directory. For other revisions you can download the utility from the Tech. Support website at https://intranet.industry.usa.siemens.com/sector/bt/Departments/field-support/Pages/patches-and-utilities.aspxafter going to this site click on the link for the version of Insight you need the file for. If you are an end user you would need to contact your local VAP or Siemens Branch for this. As for your questions about warning messages that say the point has been deleted from a graphic. In general these do not create any issues for the systemso really you do not need to take any action. If you really want to clean them up again I would contact Tech Support in Buffalo Grove if you are a siemens branch or VAP or otherwise contact you local VAP or Siemens office. They should know about this and if not could contact us directly with question. We do use some of the oocheck and other utilities to clean this up but it would be best to talk to someone directly.

I.e slow down the network. The customer site is significantly slow and we are trying eliminate causes. Typically we have to restart aync on a weekly basis due to graphics taking 3 - 4 minutes to load the points and point editor etc taking forever to open and load. thank you

Jon Elling Posts: 26 Rating: (4)	It should not have any effect on network performance. I would suggesting calling into Buffalo Grove Tech support or log a ticket into the system. There are many things we can look at to troubleshoot network reaction time and async issues. There are also newer versions or patches for aysnc that may need to be installed.
