FM 458-1 DP Download problem

Pankaj Agarwal Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	In one project we are facing problem with the FM 458-1 DP The hardware configuration is as below (see enclosed file): PS407 10A CPU 416-2 (6ES7 416-2XN05-0AB0) V5.3.1 CP 443-1 (6GK7 443-1EX11-0EX0) V2.7 FM458-1 DP (6DD1607 0AA2) V2.1 MMC 2MB (6ES7953-8LL20-0AA0) We have tried several times to download hardware configuration through a. ISO protocol through CP 443-1 b. PC adaptor (MPI) But the FM module is always in Stop mode. Stop LED is flashing. And when we go online in the HW config it shows the module is not available. And also when we try to download the charts to FM the message we get is module not available. In the mean time to ascertain the problem we have tried the following without success: Putting the FM458 in different slots of the rack. Upgrading the D7-sys 6.2 to 7.0. Changing the CPU 416-2 with CPU 414-2 (6ES7414-2XG03-0AB0) We are not clear from the FM458-1 manuals about the following queries: Our queries: 1. What can be the possible reason for it? 2. Is the FM compatible with the CPU? 3. We do not have the V2.1 of FM in my hardware catalog and we didn’t get this version even after updating hardware from the internet. So we have configured with the available gsd. Is it because of these? 4. We are using D7-sys 6.2 Service pack3 with PCS7 V7.0. Is it OK? Thanks in advance. Hello, 2. yes (there is no restriction) 3. no problem, use the newest avaible firmware in HW Config (GSD-file is only for PROFBUS configuration and does not help here.) 4. You should use the same version of D7-SYS as your CFC version is. D7-SYS is listed in the compabitlty list (Start > SIMATIC > Information > English > STEP 7 - Compatibility List. ) - What lights on the FM are on? - To make shure to have the standard commniucation settings, please start "C:\Program Files\Siemens\Step7\S7BIN\p7sdonlx.exe" and select "PG/PC" and "OK". - Did you compile the FM program in CFC (even if it is empty or only with @simd)? - Did you download the FM program in CFC ? - Can you attach your program?

LA_COLD Posts: 24 Rating: (8)	I have seen this issue too. In my case ithad to do with theMMC (memory card) in the FM458. If I put a new one in or even formatted the old one with a Siemens Field PG, I could get it working again.

In CFC goto "CPU", "Module information..." You should get some thing like this: [code] Display of the system error panels SYS_ERR and INIT_ERR: Initial error: 0x0000 -> no initial error registered Initialization error: 0x8000 -> No user program; configuration not loaded. PN-Init. and PN-IB error: 0x0000 Coordination error during Init.: 0x0000 Missing reply from the C bus: 0x0000 Missing reply from the L bus: 0x0000 Error during $ signal init.: 0x0000 Task manager error T1: 0x00 Task manager error T2: 0x00 Task manager error T3: 0x00 Task manager error T4: 0x00 Task manager error T5: 0x00 HW monitoring error: 0x00000000 User error: 0x0000 Communication error: -> no error registered Hardware errors (INIT_ERR): -> no error registered ----------------------------- End of Diagnosis -------------------------------[/code] Please post it here. If your PC has a real serial interface (Com1 or Com2) you can connect it to the FM (9 pin Sub D connectors, one male, one female, wiring: 2-3, 3-2, 5-5) Setup a terminal program (e.g. Hyperterminal) set it to 19200bps, 8bit data, even, one stop bit and no flow control. When you start the rack the FM should shows "Hallo, ich lebe !!" followed by some additional text. If you can get it, post it please.
