I am having a problem with the fm458. when the machine is working, the fm458 module stops working, all the LEDs are blinking, and the CPU S7-400 also stops working so I can't check what happened. This happens about once every 1-2 weeks. Has anyone encountered this and what is the solution?

For information, the FM458  is 6DD1607-0AA2 ,firmware V2.1

Connect directly to the FM458-1DP via DUST1, goto CFC-menu CPU-Module Information and copy from both tabs the diagnostic information.

Also try to find inside the conference similiar threads.

 Can you explain in detail how to connect using dust1 or any document that mentions about connecting FM458

DUST1 is a service protocol, RS232 interface on X1 9-pin sub-D socket. You should connect your PC using RS232-cable to X1 on FM458-1DP, select DUST1 in Setting PG/PC Interface. Manual is here.

 I will connect to the module when the error occurs again. But is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? What could be the reasons for this? Why does this issue cause the CPU to stop working? This issue has a major impact on the factory. I hope you can assist.

I had this issue in multiple occasion in multiple machines. 

Updating to the latest firmware solved.

 I made a direct connection with the FM-458-1 module as your instructions (details in the attachment). But CFC still shows connection error. Can you point out what I missed?
