How to link 1500 PLC Diagnostics and Alarms with WinCC OA SmartSCADA?

I'm trying to achieve "WinCC OA S7+ alarming" by following a well documented guide atS7Plus PLC Alarms. So far, I have tried the following: In TIA Portal v17: Create a new project. Add a new device -> CPU 1511-1 PN. Create a new alarm class named My_Alarm_Class in PLC_1 -> Common Data -> Alarm Classes. Create a new FB and insert Program_Alarm function (available in Extended Instructions -> Alarming -> Program_Alarm) in it. Assign input variables as Alarm_Input to SIG, and Alarm_Text to SD_1 of Program_Alarm function. Change alarm class of function to My_Alarm_Class from Properties -> Alarm -> Basic Settings -> Alarm Class Call the FB in OB1 and give input via. a normally open contact instruction using a trigger memory bit. Verify that the user defined alarm is visible in PLC_1 -> PLC Supervisons & Alarms -> Alarms Tab -> Program Alarms. Export project to Simatic SCADA (.zip). In WinCC OA 3.19 P12: Create a new project. Add driverAckClassPrefix = "S7" entry under [driver] section in project config. Create a new S7+ driver, activate alarming, and ensure connectivity. FYI, I have a 1500 PLC lingering around (511-1ak00-0ab0, firmware v1.8). Select all display class filters, and TIA project (exported project .zip) viz. S7+ Driver Configuration -> Enginerring tab. Map TIA portal alarm classes to WinCC OA alarm classes from System Management -> S7+ Alarm Class Mapping. Create a new DPE in ExampleDP_Int as sp7, and insert Periphery Address Config for S7PLus Driver. Set Reference as the user defined program alarm, Type of transformation = Int, Direction = Input, Receive mode = Alarm, Check Address Active. When I download the program in PLC and change the trigger bit (Alarm_Input) of Program_Alarm FB, neither the original value of the DPE is changing nor any alarm is popping up in System Management -> Diagnostics -> Alarm Screen. Most probably I am missing a trivial step, but I have tried a lot figuring that, so I request everyone to help me out. Feel free to ask for more information. Thank you!
