GJohn Posts: 112 Rating: (10)	It is possible to read any parameter value from the drive. Parameters can be readas process data (PZD) or parameter access (PKW). The profiles set up certain amounts of PZD data and if you use PKW data,not the parameters that are read.The parameters that are read by PZD data can be changed by the various subparamters of parameter P2051. Parameters that are read by PKW data can be programmed in your PLC code and varied at runtime if necessary. henno2000 Posts: 177 Rating: (0)	Many thanks for the reply. For my situation, I am only wanting to read various statuses of the drive. So I assume just the PZD parameters require setting up? (Selected profile from the HWConfig). Which one would be most suitable? Also, what is contained within the 'universal' model? I have tried select various modules, but the only one that it editable is the universal module, the other ones are 'greyed' out. Could someone explain why? Regards, henno2000

GJohn Posts: 112 Rating: (10)	The PPO's are not editable as they follow a set format, see chapter 3.1.1 in link above. PPO's theoretically allow you to swap brands of drives and keep the same software. PZD is the simplest but if you have a lot of drives it starts to create a lot ofunecessary traffic on profibus if the values are for display purposes only. Set PZD actual value to 5 words in the hardware set up, set P2051[2] to 27 current, P2051[3] to 31 torque and P2051[4] to 38 power factor in the drive. I generally use PPO1 for micromaster drives as I use PKW data for data which is for display purposes. See chapter 3 in link above for more details on profibus communication.
